Success At Whose Cost?

As the grapevine goes, the one reason why the Bank of India (BoI) public issue was over subscribed 1.8 times was because it had the blessings of the BSE brokers.
After all, the BoI had stood by the BSE over all these years. It was perhaps the BSE's turn to return the favour. Marketmen are of the view that BoI would not have performed well enough had the brokers not taken keen interest in the issue. If you are still not convinced, Damani would like to know the reasons for the failure of the Bank of Baroda (BoB) issue, even when the conditions were the same. BoB did not receive a good response from the broking community. Which leads one to question, where does the success of an issue really lie?
