Summit, Oracle In Language Deal

The Delhi-based printing and publishing software solutions company Summit Infotech will work with global software major Oracle in providing Indian regional language Oracle products. The joint work between both the companies will ensure local language capability of Oracle database products.
According to company officials, the first phase of product development is over and is currently under the test run stage. Both the companies would work together in using Oracle database products for Summit's solutions and products.
The company has also planned technology alliances with other companies. In addition to this, the company is also shifting its focus to product development from hardware distribution.

"We are shifting our focus to purely technology solutions and services. We will be doing less and less of distribution" said Rakesh Kapoor, managing director, Summit Infotech Ltd. The company has already ended the distribution alliance it had with Apple and SGI.
Elaborating on the company strategy, Kapoor said they will be working as a technology provider not as a distributor of other products. "We are repositioning ourselves as a digital content creation and management product company," he said.
In addition to this, the company is also working on technologies to provide publishing on other alternate medium.
