Traded Volumes At Rs 254.88 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange witnessed a volume of Rs 254.88 crore yesterday,

Of this, the corporate debentures accounted to a volume of Rs 1572.34 lakh. The inter-bank call money rates remained in the range of 8.5 per cent to 9.5 per cent during the day.

There was trading interest witnessed in the market after a long time, commented a NSE broker.

There were 40 trades in the government securities segment and 365 trades in the corporate debentures segment.

The 12.14 per cent government loan maturing in 2000 was in demand, accounting to nine trades worth Rs 45 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted yield of 10.80 per cent and in the range of Rs 102.77 to Rs 103.08.

 

The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004, too, received inquires and recorded trades worth Rs 27 crores. The paper was traded at a weighted yield of 11.56 per cent and in the range of Rs 104.50 to Rs 104.78 for the day.

The 10.85 per cent government loan accounted for the largest volume of the day at Rs 50 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted yield of 11.05 per cent and was traded in the range of Rs 99.30 to Rs 99.35.
