Turnover Touches All-Time High On Reliance Results

The trading sentiment on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) firmed up following the announcement of a 1:1 bonus issue by Reliance Industries (RIL). The total traded turnover touched an all time high of Rs 3080.61 crore. Even the total number of shares traded at the exchange touched an all time high of 9.33 crore.
The Reliance counter witnessed a total traded turnover of Rs 1580.97 crore during with nearly 4.18 crore shares changing hands. The Reliance scrip closed at Rs 379.70 as against the previous close of Rs 368.55. According to sources, the Reliance Industries Ltd scrip is expected to cross the Rs 400-barrier in the days to come. The NSE-50 index closed at 1168.20 against the previous close of 1161.90 points a gain of 6.30 points.

Among the top five gainers of the day were, Essar Steel which closed at Rs 15.90 (Rs 14.85), ITC at Rs 512 (Rs 492.85), Reliance Industries at Rs 379.70 (Rs 368.55), Oriental Bank of Commerce at Rs 70.10 (Rs 68.05) and Hindustan Lever Ltd at Rs 1374.60 (Rs 1346.25).
Among the top five losers during intra-day were were:, IFCI which closed at Rs 30.80 (Rs 33.10), EIH which closed at Rs 418 (Rs 430.10), Andhra Valley at Rs 94 (Rs 96.5), Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) at Rs 234.65 (Rs 240.25) and Indian Hotels at Rs 620.60 (Rs 635.20).
The trading sentiment at the other counters also improved and most of the pivotals closed higher than their previous close. The HDFC counter continued
its bull run and the scrip closed at Rs 3755.70 against the previous close of Rs 3722.15. The total traded turnover at this counter touched Rs 15.14 .The total traded turnover touched Rs 5.04 crore.
