Vw Tightens Security After Finding Spy Camera

VW spokesman Klaus Kocks said the group had found an infra-red camera buried near its Ehra-Lessien testing site near Wolfsburg, which had been sending footage of new car models via satellite to an unknown receiver for several months.
Kocks said four unauthorised photographs of VW prototypes had appeared in car magazines in recent months, leading the group to suspect that a rival manufacturer had penetrated its security system. The camera, which had snapped footage of VW's prototype Golf, Passat and EA-420 models, was discovered after a six-month search.
Langendoerfer, who led a high-profile investigation earlier this year into the kidnapping of Hamburg multimillionaire Jan Philipp Reemstma, is to join Volkswagen in October.
