Airtel gets new CEO for Punjab circle

Airtel announced Rajiv Jaitly would be chief executive officer (CEO) of Airtel in the Punjab circle. Before this, he was chief operating officer (COO) of Airtel in the Rajasthan circle.

Under his leadership, Airtel continued to dominate the market in Rajasthan and achieved the 1mn customer landmark.

He has also been instrumental in driving rural market expansion in Rajasthan Circle and creating a strong brand connect in the state

Prior to his Rajasthan tenure, Rajiv has also had the responsibility of Sales & Marketing for Airtel in Delhi. He has over 20 years of rich experience, out of which the last 4 years have been in the cellular Industry in Top Management positions.

He is an Economics (Hons) graduate and has done MBA (Marketing) from Long Island University, USA. Rajiv's eventful career spans rich experience in leading organizations like Star TV & Pepsi. His stint in Pepsi won him various accolades.

Bharti Tele-Ventures is one of India's leading private sector providers of telecommunications services with an aggregate of over 20.93 million customers as of end of March '06, consisting of more than 19.58 million mobile customers. The company is the only operator to provide mobile services in all the 23 circles in India. The company also provides telephone services and Internet access over DSL in 15 circles.
