Cognizant inagurates Rs 180 cr facility in Coimbatore

Cognizant technology has inaugurated its new campus at Keeranatham village in Coimbatore. The Rs 180 crore facility was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday.

Spread in 23-acre techno-campus is part of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the first phase of the project has been built to accommodate over 6,000 professionals.

“This techno-campus will help us leverage the many strengths of Coimbatore such as good talent pool, sound educational infrastructure, high levels of work and professional ethics, entrepreneurial culture, and a thriving industrial ecosystem,” said R Chandrasekaran, president and managing director - global delivery, Cognizant.

 

Vishnu Potty, Vice President and Head of Coimbatore Operations, Cognizant said that the company started operations in 2005 with approximately 50 professionals and have ramped up to over 2,200 professionals today, servicing global customers in four industry clusters—financial services; healthcare; manufacturing and retail; and information, media and entertainment.
