Smartphone maker Gionee has launched the S Plus handset exclusively for Indian customers. The smartphone, the newest addition to the S series, features USB Type C port, according to the company.
The Gionee S Plus is a 5.5-inch smartphone with 720p HD AMOLED display, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The 4G LTE-enabled device is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core processor, coupled with a 3G RAM and 16GB expandable storage.
Timir Baran Acharyya, general manager, Gionee India said: “In today’s fast-paced time, the consumer needs and desires are evolving, and they don’t want to compromise on either the looks or the specifications of the device. So, to bridge the gap, we have introduced the S Plus, especially in India this Diwali, to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for.”
The smartphone features a 13-MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5-MP front camera for selfies and video calling. It runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, backed by a 3150mAh battery.
Priced at Rs 16,999, the device will be available in Dark Blue, White and Golden colour variants from the first week of November.
