Instablog launches citizen journalism version

Instablogs Networks, a local blogging company, has launched its citizen journalism version called 'Instablog Community'.

Company officials said Instablog community was part of the New Media and Web 2.0 with a purpose of bringing bloggers and readers closer.

Claiming to have over 100 blogs under its flagship, Instablog says it has taken the initiative to upgrade Instablog Community from a network of loosely tied blogs to a social network of blogs.

"This interaction would give a new direction to 'citizen journalism'. This was a fast-growing sector with the number of blogs crossing the 100,000 mark in India in the last two years," said Instablogs Networks Chief Executive Ankit Maheshwari here on Wednesday.
