Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) and an independent director on the board of Satyam Computer Services till recently, Mendu Rammohan Rao said he was "stunned" by the Wednesday's revelation of the IT major's founder and chairman B Ramalinga Raju.
"It has been deeply disturbing for me to read the news reports this morning. I am stunned by this revelation", he said in a brief statement.
Rao had chaired Satyam's board meeting that endorsed the company's proposal to buy the two Maytas firms linked to the family of. However, he was not consulted prior to calling off the deal. "I was informed later. I got a mail and I endorsed it," Rao told Business Standard. Rao resigned from Satyam's board on December 29.
