Mobile phone major Nokia, plans to launch close to nine handsets this year in the range of Rs 5-20,000 dedicated to music and value-added features, as well as a complete roll out of its ‘Ovi’ brand in order to build a suite of internet-based services for its phones.
According to Nokia's Head Marketing (India) Vineet Taneja, “We have products catering to all price points. Our thrust areas will be more value-added products with features and localised music content.” Internet-based services like Nokia Maps, Nokia Music Store and Nokia N-gauge around its Ovi brand would be launched nationally too. Currently, the ‘Ovi’ brand is on a beta version. Taneja launched the 'Nokia 5800 XpressMusic' in Kolkata.
