Syntel opens Chennai facility

IT services and BPO company Syntel Inc has opened a new software development facility at DLF's IT SEZ Park in Nandambakkam near Chennai.
 
The new software development facility has been set up on an area of 80,000 square feet, and will have a seating capacity for 750 people.
 
The facility will provide IT services to Syntel's global health, banking and insurance clients. Syntel has invested around Rs 8 crore in the new facility.
 
Currently in expansion mode, Syntel is also commencing construction on a 29-acre SEZ facility at the Sirusseri IT Park near here and expects to cover 9 lakh sft in the first phase at a cost of Rs 235 crore.
 
Syntel caters to the custom outsourcing needs of companies in the BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance), retail, healthcare and automotive sectors.
 
With revenues of Rs 1,200 crore last year, Syntel has more than 7,500 employees worldwide with its Indian operations in Mumbai, Chennai and Pune.
