TCS to invest Rs 1,500cr in Tamil Nadu

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be investing Rs 1,200-1,500 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next two-three years for expansion.

The company will also be investing Rs 120 crore in the next 2-3 years to set up its operations in Coimbatore. It will initially be setting up its development centre with a seating capacity for 2,000 people on a 5-acre campus in Coimbatore. The facility is expected to be ready in the next 18 months.

S Ramadorai, chief executive officer and managing director of TCS, said he was impressed with the quality of the talent pool in Coimbatore. "There is a passionate, well-informed and ambitious community of people," he added. 

The company is investing close to Rs 1,200 crore to build its largest facility in Siruseri near Chennai. This will have a seating capacity for over 23,000 people. TCS has over 13,000 professionals based in the state.
