| Kshitij, the annual techno-management festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kharagpur, will be held from the 31st of January to the 3rd of February, and will have about 15,000 registered and over 3,000 outstation participants. |
| The speakers in the four day-long event include Saifuddin Soz, Union minister for water resources, Jimmy Donal Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, Eric Drexler, eminent scientist often described as the father of nano-technology, M C Mehta, the renowned environmental lawyer, Lawrence M Krauss, theoretical physicist and author of the bestseller 'Physics of Star-trek', Dilip Chhabria, automobile designer and the founder of DC Design, and Roger Kornberg, Nobel Laureate in chemistry for the year 2006. |
| The event will have games like "El matador", where there will be a replication of the stock market that captures the emotions of a trading place. |
| Other games include Relic Hunter, where the participants are asked to unravel the mysteries that images convey and traverse through the web world with an eye on the elusive relic. |
| The total worth of prizes to be distributed in the four-day event is close to Rs 35 lakh. |
| The event will have a representation from over 300 educational institutes including all the IITs, Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and National Institute of Technology (NITs). |
| From IIT Kharagpur alone, 6,000 students will participate in the feast. The event will have over 45 events, including workshops, guest lectures in a span of four days. |
