Uptec Computer to open branch in Mauritius

Fresh from the success of selling 15 per cent equity to a strategic investor at Rs 1,712 a share, Uptec Computer Consultancy Ltd has decided on another initiative "" a company in Mauritius.

To be called Uptec Technology (Mauritius) Ltd, the plan is to develop it into a multimedia development centre, where interactive (web-based) learning will be offered. Later, it will be developed into an e- learning and e- testing centre.

Uptec will start by offering 14 information technology subjects. It will initially have three or four papers. The interactive tools have been developed by the company in-house.

It has been teaching information technology for the last decade and a half , and has developed a number of books on the subject, which have been published by Mc Graw Hill and Elsevier, among others.

It has trained about 50,000 students at its various centres in India. This material has been developed for different categories, needed for effective learning, said Upendra Kumar, MD of the company.

It has ISO-9001/2000 certificates for content design and development services, applicable to all its centres and educational courses, including management education.
