Our Correspondent  |  Mangalore

"It is important to realise that we are all at a historical junction in the history of this country. Never before did the world look up to India for the past 1,200 years. Now most developed nations like US look to India whether it is information technology, life science, clinical research," said N R Narayan Murthy, chairman and chief mentor, Infosys Technologies, here on Thursday.
He was speaking after inaugurating the T M A Pai International Convention Centre, the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, he pointed out that nine to ten per cent of our GDP comes from exports and stressed the need to move to a model where 30 per cent of our GDP comes from exports.
"We must move seven to eight million people from agriculture sector to industrial sector and be able to attract large investments and exports", he said.
