Nifty January futures trade at a premium


Benchmark equity indices closed sharply lower on Tuesday, with the Nifty slipping below the 25,250 level as selling pressure intensified across the board. All NSE sectoral indices ended in the red, with realty stocks leading the declines.

At 14:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 567.07 points or 0.68% to 82,679.11. The Nifty 50 index lost 206.55 points or 0.81% to 25,380.15.

As per provisional closing data, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 1,065.71 points or 1.28% to 82,180.47. The Nifty 50 index lost 353 points or 1.38% to 25,232.50.
