ARUNACHAL PRADESH


Arunachal Pradesh is one of the eight states in Northeast India. It has two seats in the Lok Sabha. Currently, one seat is held by the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the other by the Indian National Congress. The Arunachal Pradesh state Assembly has 60 seats. In the 2014 Assembly elections, the Indian National Congress had won 42 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party 11, and the People’s Party of Arunachal 5 seats. Two seats had been bagged by Independent candidates. At present, Pema Khandu, who is now with the Bharatiya Janata Party, is the chief minister of the state.
