The Silchar Lok Sabha Constituency in the state of Assam is currently held by Rajdeep Roy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Roy beat Sushmita Dev of the Indian National Congress (INC) by receiving 52.59% of the votes cast in this constituency.

Silchar is one of thconstituencies in 14-seat Assam. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Silchar went to the polls on April 18, 2019, in Phase 2. It saw 79.40% of its registered electors turning out to vote, against 75.44% in the previous national elections held in 2014. Rajdeep Roy defeated his nearest rival, Sushmita Dev, by a margin of 81596 votes. While Roy received 52.59 votes, runner-up Sushmita Dev polled 43.99 votes.
At the time of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Silchar had 1,574,544 registered electors – 778,778 of them male and 795,766 female. The constituency had seen a 77.04% voter turnout. In 2014, the male voter turnout here was 77.66%, while 76.43% female voters turned out for voting. A total of 14 candidates had contested in this constituency. The participation of women candidates was 1.
