Maliwal assault case: 500-page chargesheet filed against Kejriwal's aide

The Delhi Police on Tuesday filed its 500-odd page charge sheet against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar in a case of alleged assault against AAP MP Swati Maliwal. The charge sheet was filed before Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal who also extended the judicial custody of Kumar till July 30. Kumar is accused of assaulting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Maliwal on May 13 at the chief minister's official residence here. During the Tuesday's proceedings, the prosecution told the court that the charge sheet runs into around 500 pages and it also has the statements of about 50 witnesses. Delhi HC sets July 25 deadline for Centre to decide on office space to AAP

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted the Centre time till July 25 to decide on allotment of office space to the AAP here on account of it being recognised as a national party. On June 5, the high court granted six weeks to the Centre to decide the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) request in this matter. Maliwal assault case: Delhi police likely to file charge sheet on Tuesday

The Delhi Police will likely file the charge sheet in connection with the case of assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal, allegedly by Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar, on Tuesday at a local court, official sources said. Police have almost concluded the investigation and they are ready to file the charge sheet against Kumar at Tis Hazari court, sources said. According to them, police have prepared an over 1,000-page charge sheet with the security staff, who were deployed at the residence of Arvind Kejriwal, when the alleged incident took place, as witnesses. Tihar jail authorities on Monday said Arvind Kejriwal lost only 2 kg in prison and that he was being regularly monitored by an AIIMS medical board, refuting the AAP's claims that the Delhi chief minister's health was deteriorating. A Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of AAP leader and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Special judge for CBI and ED Kaveri Baweja extended the custody of Sisodia till July 22 after he was produced before the court through video conference on the expiry of his judicial custody. The court on April 30 dismissed the bail pleas of Sisodia in corruption and money laundering cases lodged by the CBI and the ED in relation to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. A court here on Friday extended till July 25 the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the corruption case linked to the alleged excise policy scam being probed by the CBI. Kejriwal was produced through video conferencing before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja. He appeared in connection with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases on the expiry of his judicial custody. Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court had granted him interim bail in the money laundering case linked to the alleged scam.
