DMRC opens entry, exit gates of Lok Kalyan Marg metro station after 9 hours

Nine hours after shutting the gates of Lok Kalyan Marg metro station due to security reasons, the DMRC has opened its entry and exit on Tuesday evening, officials said. Two gates of Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro station were also opened, they said. Ahead of the AAP's protest against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday closed the entry and exit gates at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station. The entry and exit have been restricted at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations. "Due to security reasons, entry/exit at Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station, Gate no 3 of Patel Chowk Metro Station and Gate no 5 of Central Secretariat Metro station will remain closed till further notice," the DMRC said in a post on X. Later in the evening, the DMRC said that the entry and exit gates at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station have been opened. Delhi Metro services to begin from 2:30 pm on Holi, Mar 25: DMRC officials

Delhi Metro services will begin from 2.30 pm on the day of Holi on March 25, officials said on Friday. The services on non-terminal stations will be available much later as the operations start from terminal stations at 2.30pm. "On the day of the Holi festival, on March 25 (Monday), Metro services will not be available till 2.30 pm on all lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line," the DMRC said in a statement. Metro train services will thus start at 2.30 pm from terminal stations on all lines on March 25 and will continue normally thereafter, it further said.

Delhi Metro's ITO, Lok Kalyan Marg stations reopen, say DMRC officials

The Delhi Metro has reopened the ITO and the Lok Kalyan Marg stations, a day after these were closed in view of an AAP protest against the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, officials said on Saturday. "ITO metro station and Lok Kalyan Marg metro station are now open for entry/exit," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a post on X. On Friday, the DMRC announced that the two stations would remain closed until further notice. The move came after the AAP launched a protest against Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in an excise policy-linked money-laundering case.

ITO Station of Delhi Metro to stay closed until further notice, says DMRC

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday announced that the ITO Metro Station will continue to remain closed until further notice. Earlier in the day, DMRC had announced closure of ITO Metro Station from 8 am to 6 pm. The DMRC has also announced closure of Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station in view of AAP's protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The road is where the prime minister's residence is. The transporter shut down the stations following the directions of police. "On advice of Delhi Police, Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station will also remain closed in addition to ITO Metro station till further notice," the DMRC posted on X.

NDMC Vice Chairman Satish Upadhyay on Saturday said most of the escalators in Connaught Place here were found non-functional during an inspection. DMRC chief Kumar conducts night inspection after Gokulpuri station incident

DMRC chief Vikas Kumar has conducted a late-night inspection of some metro stations on its Pink Line, a day after a portion of a wall collapsed at Gokulpuri station, officials said on Saturday. A 53-year-old man died and four people were injured in the Thursday morning incident. "The DMRC MD conducted an inspection of some of the metro stations on its Pink Line on Friday night. DMRC announces Rs 25 lakh for family of deceased in Gokulpuri incident

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Thursday announced Rs 15 lakh in compensation for the family of 53-year-old man who died after a portion of the Gokulpuri Metro Station on the Pink Line in northeast Delhi collapsed, official statement said. The DMRC announced Rs 2.5 lakh for the grievously injured and Rs 50,000 for those who received minor injuries, it stated. The transporters also suspended two of its officials over the collapse. "Two DMRC officials, a manager and a junior engineer from the civil department, have been immediately suspended," the statement read. The DMRC will be investigating the circumstances leading to this incident to take necessary remedial measures to prevent such unfortunate occurrences in the future, it said.
