Construction of RRTS viaduct in Delhi section to be completed by April-end

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Friday said the construction of the Regional Rapid Transit System viaduct in the Delhi section is likely to be completed by April-end. Track-laying activities, along with electric traction and signalling work, are underway in the New Ashok Nagar-Sahibabad section, officials said here. The Delhi section is anticipated to be completed by the end of this year, paving the way for trial runs between Delhi and Sahibabad, they said. The NCRTC officials said the construction of the RRTS viaduct in the Delhi section was nearing completion. "Less than 500 metres of the viaduct in the Delhi section is now left for construction, which is scheduled for completion by the end of this month. The Delhi section is about 14 kilometres long which consists of about nine kilometres of elevated section and five km of underground section," an official said. Unsold homes in 9 cities down 7% in last 3 months; 12% fall in NCR: Rpt

Unsold housing inventories fell 7 per cent in the last three months across 9 major cities to around 4.81 lakh units on higher sales than new supply, according to PropEquity. Real estate data analytic firm PropEquity data showed that unsold housing stock has come down to 4,81,566 units at the end of March this year from 5,18,868 units at the end of December 2023 across 9 major cities. These cities are Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Delhi-NCR (Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad), Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata. PropEquity founder and Managing Director (MD) Samir Jasuja said the unsold housing stocks have declined as "sales are surpassing the new launches which is a positive indicator for the market". Fresh housing supply drops 15% in Jan-Mar across top cities: Report

New supply of residential properties fell 15 per cent during January-March across eight major cities at 69,143 units despite high demand, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Real estate consultant Cushman & Wakefield on Friday released the data for launches of residential properties in the primary (first sale) of eight major cities. New supply has increased in Bengaluru and Mumbai but declined in Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Out of the total launches of residential properties in this quarter, the high-end and luxury segment had a 34 per cent share. Listed, large and regionally reputed developers accounted for over 38 per cent of overall launches in the current quarter. Mother Dairy will launch this summer 30 new products, mainly in ice cream and yoghurt categories, as it expects a 25-30 per cent increase in consumer demand, a top company official said. Mother Dairy, a leading milk supplier in Delhi-NCR, has nine company-owned dairy processing plants with a total capacity of more than 50 lakh litres per day. In an interview with PTI, Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd MD Manish Bandlish said, "Summer is the most anticipated season for our business, especially for categories like ice creams, curd and beverages". "With the Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) prediction of above-normal temperatures and a hot summer this year, we are expecting a multifold surge in demand for these categories," he added. Realty firm Prestige Estates Projects Ltd on Thursday said it has acquired 62.5 acres at Indirapuram Extension in Delhi-NCR to develop a township that has a revenue potential of Rs 10,000 crore. The company said the acquisition cost is Rs 468 crore and includes a revenue share with the landlord. In a regulatory filing, the company said this strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone for Prestige Group as it expands its footprint in the dynamic real estate market of Delhi-NCR. The acquired land, with a saleable area of 10 million sq ft, will be developed primarily as residential, complemented by education and retail. This project will be branded under the successful 'The Prestige City' format. "The cost of acquisition amounts to Rs 468 crore, along with a revenue share," Prestige Group said. SC grants interim bail to businessman in Delhi Excise policy 'scam'

The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted five-week interim bail to Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally, who has been arrested in a money-laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta granted the interim bail to Boinpally owing to the health condition of his wife, who is suffering from various ailments. The bench noted that the businessman has been in custody for 18 months. It, however, asked him to give a phone number to officials of the Enforcement Directorate by which they can remain in touch with him. The bench also asked him to surrender his passport and directed him to not leave the National Capital Region except for a visit to his hometown Hyderabad. The top court passed the order on Boinpally's bail plea. Mother Dairy will invest Rs 650 crore to set up two new plants for processing of milk as well as fruits and vegetables to expand its business amid rising consumer demand. Mother Dairy, which is a leading milk supplier in Delhi-NCR, will also invest another Rs 100 crore to expand capacities of its existing plants. "In our endeavour to expand our distribution and reach to our consumers, we have earmarked a capital expenditure (capex) outlay of over Rs 750 crore to enhance our dairy and F&V (fruits and vegetables) processing capacities across key locations," Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd MD Manish Bandlish told PTI. ED raids against RJD family associate in homebuyer's funds fraud case

The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday raided multiple premises in Delhi-NCR as part of a money laundering investigation against a realty and liquor group promoted by Amit Katyal, an alleged "close associate" of RJD chief Lalu Prasad's family, official sources said. Katyal was arrested by the central agency last year in the alleged railways land-for-jobs scam involving Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, son and former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, MP daughter Misa Bharti and some other children. A total of 27 premises of Haryana-based Krishn Buildtech Pvt Ltd in Delhi, Gurugram and Sonipat are being searched under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said. The top leadership of the Congress is attending a meeting in the national capital on Thursday to finalise the party's candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
