Skill development crucial in setting up efficient logistics: DPIIT

Capacity building and skill development play a crucial role in establishing efficient and cost-effective logistics and infrastructure systems, an official statement said on Monday. Speaking at a workshop in Vadodara, Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Rajesh Kumar Singh highlighted on integrating logistics and infrastructure development courses into the curriculum of Central Training Institutes (CTIs), State Administrative Training Institutes (ATIs). It would help officers to better prepare to tackle the complexities of infrastructure development, enhance logistical efficiencies, and contribute significantly to India's economic growth and development agenda. As part of efforts to strengthen India's logistics and infrastructure sectors, the DPIIT, in collaboration with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, Gujarat, organised the workshop. There are huge opportunities to further enhance collaboration between India and Australia in the skills training area in sectors such as digital technology, renewable energy and infrastructure, High Commissioner of Australia to India Philip Green said on Monday. He said Australia's skill training is globally competitive and its training courses are developed in consultation with the industry. "We would like to be a bigger part of India's journey as it goes to fill its skills demand which is so massive over the next decade," Green said here at the Australia-India Skills Partnership Summit. India is the fifth largest economy in the world and is growing at 8 per cent per annum and that makes it the fastest growing large economy on the planet. Key RSS meet begins; to focus on social harmony, developing self-reliance

A key annual meeting of the RSS leadership will begin here on Sunday and the deliberations will focus on how to create an atmosphere of social harmony, motivate people to perform their duties and make them self-reliant. The three-day meeting will also review the progress of the organisation's expansion plan for the centenary of its foundation in 2025, head of media relations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sunil Ambekar earlier said. He said the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha will be attended by more than 1,400 office-bearers, including RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale. From the BJP, president J P Nadda and general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh will attend the meeting, he said. A select number of office-bearers of 34 RSS-linked organisations including Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) will also attend it, he added.
