"The total number of QR code-based paper tickets sold till May 30 is nearly 74,00,854," a senior official of the DMRC told PTI. Delhi High Court has directed the city government and the DMRC to explore the possibility of installation of advanced cardiac life support facilities at the three major interchange stations in Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk and Hauz Khas. A bench of Justice Manmohan and Justice Saurabh Banerjee also asked the city government and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to file a fresh status report before the next date of hearing. Delhi Metro has done a "good job" in providing connectivity in the national capital, but "probably not as good" in the NCR cities such as Gurugram and Noida where people still face transport problems, a top official in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said on Wednesday. During his address at the 29th Foundation Day of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation at the Metro Bhawan here, Secretary, MoHUA, Manoj Joshi, also said that the DMRC can explore evolving a system where "proper source of funding" for it can be worked on. He, however, did not elaborate on it. Joshi, who is also the chairman of the DMRC, praised the urban transporter and said, it has "established new standards" in the domain of public transport, and is a matter of pride. The last three years have been very difficult for the DMRC, as it faced restrictions due to the Covid pandemic and an arbitration case. The DMRC, from a very healthy organisation which was repaying all its loans, making operational profits, went
The entry and exit points at Delhi Metro's Sarojini Nagar station have been remodelled for greater ease of commuters, officials said on Sunday. The station falls on the Pink Line and is located near the busy market it is named after. The passenger movement at the Sarojini Nagar metro station has been remodelled with separate entry and exit points and additional automatic-fare-collection (AFC) gates to enhance the convenience of passengers since the station caters to a large number of people due to its proximity to the Sarojini Nagar market, a prominent shopping hub in the national capital, the DMRC said. As part of the remodelling initiative, Gate No.1 (west side) of the station, which is near the Sarojini Nagar market, has been designated only for commuters' entry. Earlier, this side had six AFC gates each for entry and exit, which have now been modified to 14 gates exclusively for the entry of passengers. This will ease the inflow of commuters and reduce the waiting time for entry

Delhi Metro has asked the Centre and the city government for "further directions" on a Delhi High Court order that directed the two to help it pay dues of an arbitral award passed in favour of Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited, sources on Tuesday said. The DMRC sought directions in a letter dated March 28 addressed to the secretary, Union Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs, and chief secretary, Delhi government, in separate copies, they said.
