We have rigorously followed up with schools to send more evaluators than the required number," a senior Board official told PTI. In Delhi, students held protests accusing the CBSE of negligence and demanded immediate action against the guilty. According to Delhi Police, the class 12 economics paper was leaked on 23 March - three days before the scheduled date ..

They measured curiosity based on a behavioral questionnaire from parents and assessed reading and math achievement among kindergartners. Children with lower socioeconomic status generally have lower achievement than peers, but those who were characterised as curious performed similarly on math and reading assessments as children from higher income families. "Our results suggest that while higher curiosity is associated with higher academic achievement in all children, the association of curiosity with academic achievement is greater in children with low socioeconomic status," said Prachi Shah, an assistant research scientist at at University of Michigan. The CBSE has refuted a girl student's claim to the Kerala High Court of having been given a wrong question paper in the recent Mathematics board exam, saying she had 'fabricated a story' as she was 'weak' in the subject. In its counter-affidavit, submitted to the court last week in response to student Ameeya Saleem's plea, the CBSE said that instead of using the 2018 question paper, she had used her brother's question paper of 2016 for her Class X board exams, held recently. The board further submitted that the student was weak in Mathematics, and was attempting to mislead the authorities by fabricating a story and submitting false complaints to the Board. The student had moved the court suppressing the material facts and hence was not entitled for any discretionary relief, the CBSE said in its counter. The Court had on April 9 admitted the girl's petition, which claimed that she was given a 2016 question paper during the Maths exam and urged that her answer sheet be assessed based ..

Afghanistan is airdropping leaflets as it steps up efforts to boost the low number of voter registrations for upcoming legislative elections, amid concerns that a poor turnout will undermine the credibility of the poll. A series of attacks on voter registration centres across the war-torn country, including a suicide bomb in Kabul a week ago, has deterred many Afghans from signing up to participate in the October 20 ballot. Just over 650,000 adults had registered by Saturday, a fortnight after the two-month long process began, data compiled by the Independent Election Commission (IEC) showed. The IEC, which is overseeing preparations for the long-delayed parliamentary and district council vote, hopes to register up to 14 million adults at more than 7,000 polling centres. But if the current trend were to continue, fewer than three million people would be registered by the mid-June deadline. "We are concerned about the low turnout," IEC spokesman Shafi Jalali told AFP on Sunday, adding .
