Jimmy Shergill has revealed veteran actor Deepti Naval was planning to make a film based on his paternal great-aunt and famous Indian painter Amrita Sher-Gil. The actor said Naval was suppose to produce the biopic on the renowned painter and also met his family as a part of her research. "She is my father's aunt. I remember that Deepti Naval ji had done whole lot of research on her because she wanted to produce a film on her. She has lot of material. This was 30 years back. "We were kids that time. I was in UP that time and she had come down there, met our family, did a lot of research. Now is the time (for biopic)," Jimmy told PTI. Actor Noomi Rapace has been roped in as a series regular in season two of "Jack Ryan". According to the Hollywood Reporter, the "Prometheus" star will play Harriet "Harry" Baumann, a "highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming" agent with Germany's secret intelligence service who crosses paths with John Krasinski's CIA analyst Ryan in South America. Actor Jennifer Connelly has joined Tom Cruise in Paramount and Skydance's sequel "Top Gun: Maverick". Joe Kosinski is directing the film, a sequel to the 1986 original, reported Variety. The new movie will be set in a world of drone technology and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting, with Cruise portraying a flight instructor. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first film with the late Don Simpson, will produce with Cruise and Skydance CEO David Ellison. The environment ministry has decided to re-introduce a scheme for awarding Indian authors for their original work in Hindi on subjects related to environment including pollution and climate change. The Medini Puraskar Yojna, which aims at promoting original writing of books in Hindi, will have four awards for authors of various environmental topics. "We have decided to re-introduce the award. It was stopped for a gap of four to five years. But this will be started again. It aims to encourage Hindi authors to write on environmental topics," a top environment ministry official told PTI. The subjects on which the authors can write include environment protection, pollution control, environmental impact assessment, ecological restoration and development, forest conservation, forest resources and development, protection of wildlife, bio-diversity and climate change. Veteran actor Robin Williams' personal belongings, movie memorabilia and art work are set to be auctioned in New York. The Sotheby's auction confirmed that hundreds of items, including paintings by Banksy and up to 40 watches from the Oscar-winning actor's personal collection will come under the hammer.
