Tim Robbins to be honoured at Karlovy Vary Festival

Oscar-winning actor and director, Tim Robbins, will be honoured at the Karlovy Vary film festival.The prestigious event will present the 59-year-old star with a Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.Robbins has already won an Oscar for best-supporting actor for his role in 'Mystic River' in 2003, and was also nominated for an Academy Award as a director for 'Dead Man Walking' in 1995.The 'Top Gun' star has also earned a Golden Globe Award for 'The Player' (1992).Oscar-winning actor Anna Paguin and actor/director Stephen Moyer will also be presented with The Parting Glass along screenwriter and co-star Denis O'Hare and producer Cerise Hallam Larkin.

South film directors don't typecast: Ashutosh Rana

Ashutosh Rana, who is all set to make a grand Bollywood comeback with 'Dhadak', opined that directors in the Southern Indian film industry do not typecast actors, unlike Bollywood.The star, who has been working a lot in the Southern Indian film industry for the past few years, will make his B-town comeback with seven big releases in a span of two years.When asked about why he chose projects in the South over Bollywood, he said, "Directors in the south film industry don't typecast you; they let you explore yourself as an actor. BAFTA unveils new diversity requirements for 2019 film awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced new eligibility standards aimed at promoting diversity at its awards. The films entering into two British film categories at next year's EE British Academy Film Awards must meet the new BFI Diversity Standards, the BAFTA said in a statement. Following consultation with the BFI and a range of industry professionals, all entries into two British film categories Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer will be required to meet at least two of the four BFI Diversity Standards. The standards focus on under-represented groups across four areas: on-screen representation, themes & narratives; project leadership & creative practitioners; industry access & opportunities; and opportunities for diversity in audience development. Jon Bernthal returning to 'The Walking Dead'

Actor Jon Bernthal is all set to return to "The Walking Dead" in its ninth season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bernthal will be back as Shane for an episode in the upcoming season of the show. The nature of Bernthal's role in the episode is not known as yet since his character was killed off in the season two finale of the zombie drama. He then came back to life as a walker before being shot down by another character. It is being speculated that his character might be appearing in a flashback scene as the show is known to play around with reality, in the form of visions and hallucinatory sequences. His appearance may be coinciding with the departure of original star, Andrew Lincoln, who will be leaving the show after the current season.

Veteran actor Robert De Niro's Broadway musical "A Bronx Tale" was briefly disrupted by an audience member, who held up a banner supporting US President Donald Trump. The incident happened when the curtain call began on the Broadway musical, which De Niro co-directed with four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks. Several photos tweeted by theatergoers showed a man in the front row holding up a large Trump 2020 "Keep America Great" banner. "The times we live in. 57 ft Lord Ganesh idol to be installed in Khairatabad

The idol of Lord Ganesh to be installed at the famous pandal at Khairatabad here for worship during Vinayaka Chavithi festival would be 57 feet tall this year, the organisers said. The idol installed at the Khairatabad pandal is considered to be the tallest idol in the country. S Sankarayya, a freedom fighter, founded Sri Ganesh Utsav Committee, Khairatabad in 1954. Sankarayya's brother Sudarshan has been continuing the tradition of Ganesh puja at Khairatabad. Thousands of devotees visit the 11 day-event of Ganesh Utsav. On the 11th day, the huge Ganesh idol is immersed in Hussain Sagar lake with the help of large cranes after a long procession. Nicolas Cage swears by 'the Super 8 feeling' when making films

Nicolas Cage says he follows his personal philosophy of "the Super 8 feeling" while taking on projects. The 54-year-old actor said while growing up he did not care about the "awards or money", but for the joy of filmmaking, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The Super 8 feeling is what my brother and I used to feel when we made movies in the backyard with the camera our dad bought us when we were kids.
