Playback singer Armaan Malik says he dreams of a day when India is famous for its singers. The artiste, who has songs "Bol Do Na Zara" and "Wajah Tum Ho" to his credit, said he wants Indian singers to achieve a star-like status, a culture prevalent in the West. "I have dedicated almost my entire life to singing and I want to make singers stars in this country. That is one thing where India lacks. Actor Mithun Chakraborty has signed a horror-comedy, which is scheduled to begin production by July-August. The actor, who was seen on the screen in "Tashkent Files", has been away from the spotlight for a while reportedly due to his ongoing treatment for back pain. He will next be seen in"Bhootiyapa", which features him along side comedians Krushna Abhishek, Sugandha Mishra and Rajiv Thakur. The film is directed by Manoj Sharma. "When I narrated the film to Mithun da, he was very excited! He is absolutely fit and fine and told me he loved the script. The film is the directorial debut of "Black Swan" choreographer Benjamin Millepied, Variety reported. The movie will be a modern adaptation of the French Opera, in which Barrera will play the title role. "'Carmen' is the opera of my childhood. Growing up, it was an ever-present part of my musical beginnings. It has inspired me greatly as an artist. "For many years, I have been passionate about creating a film musical, and 'Carmen' presents an incredibly exciting opportunity for exploring dance and music on screen," Millepied said. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz of "Anna in the tropics" fame is finalising the script.
