Lionsgate has announced that it will kick off the international tour of "The Hunger Games in Concert" from July 12 in Manchester, UK. Ace composer James Newton Howard will perform a 60-piece orchestra from "The Hunger Games" score and concert will also feature an HD screening of the first film of the franchise which was released in 2012, the studio said in a statement. The film, directed by Gary Ross, featured Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. "The first 'Hunger Games' movie was one of those rare films to combine epic storyline, memorable characters and challenging musical opportunities. I am thrilled that people will have the chance to experience The Hunger Games again in this live setting," Howard said. Hollywood action star Dwayne Johnson has said it was "overwhelming" for him to receive support from his fans from all over the world after he revealed his secret battle with depression. The 45-year-old actor, who recently opened up about his mental health, said it was important, especially for men to speak up as they tend to keep their emotions bottled up. "It was really overwhelming and thousands of people responded. It all started when I helped a man (a fan struggling with depression). I said, "Hey, you're not alone, we all go through it. "One of the most important things that I know helped me with the multiple times that I had gone through my own episodes of depression, was making sure that I was talking to people," Johnson told BBC Newsbeat. Delhi HC also refuses to stay release of Nanak Shah Fakir
The Delhi High Court today refused to stay the release of movie 'Nanak Shah Fakir', scheduled to hit the theatres from tomorrow, saying the petition was motivated after the Supreme Court refused to grant any relief. The High Court said it was unbelievable that the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC), which has filed the petition challenging the no objection certificate issued by the Censor Board, was not aware of the making of film till now. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said the "release of the film cannot be interdicted". The court directed the Centre to ensure maintenance of law and order and made it clear that it was not granting any ex-parte relief to DSGMC without hearing the film producer. The petition challenged the release of the movie saying it has characterised the family members of Guru Nank Dev with humans/actors which is against the principles of Sikh religion. Actor Arjun Kapoor has slammed an entertainment web portal for making derogatory remarks against his stepsister, Janhvi Kapoor. A website shared clickbaity link of Janhvi's photographs on Twitter, which were allegedly clicked when she had visited Arjun, along with their father, producer Boney Kapoor and her sister Khushi. The portal had posted the article in commenting on the clothes worn by Jahnvi, calling them "sexy" and "revealing" in nature. A livid Arjun called out the website for its "shameful" gaze on women. "You know what, f**k you man, f**k you as a website for highlighting or bringing it to anyone's attention... And it's shameful that your eye would go searching for something like this, shame on you... This is how our country looks at young women. Yet another shining example... Ashamed by this..." he wrote. Telugu actress strip case: NHRC sends notices to I&B ministry, T'gana govt
The NHRC has sent notices to the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry as well as the Telangana government, seeking detailed reports into a protest by a Telugu actress who stripped in public to highlight her complaint of sexual exploitation of women in the regional film industry. The NHRC has asked the state government and the ministry to submit its reports within four weeks, it said in a statement today. Following her protest, the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), an apex body of the Telugu film industry, had said on April 8 the aspiring actress would not be made a member of the organisation. The police had also booked the actress under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (obscene acts in a public place). "It appears to be an attempt to muzzle the voice of a whistle-blower both from the side of MAA and the state authorities," the apex rights body said. The lineup of the 71st Cannes Film Festival was today unveiled and Nandita Das' directorial "Manto" has been shortlisted in Un Certain Regard category. Spike Lee's "BlacKkKlansman", Jean-Luc Godard's "Le Livre d'Image" and Oscar-winning director Pawel Pawlikowski's "Zimna Wojna" are among the 18 films competing for the prestigious Palme d'Or award. Donnie Yen to star in Disney's 'Mulan"
Actor Donnie Yen has joined the cast of Disney's live-action reboot of "Mulan". The movie, which is inspired by Hua Mulan, the Chinese folk heroine who took her aged father's place in battle, will be directed by Niki Caro. The "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" star joins Chinese actor Liu Yifei, who earlier cast as the titular character in the in the project. Yen, 54, will play Mulan's mentor, Commander Tung mentor in the film. Hong Kong movie mogul Bill Kong will serve as executive producer. The new Mulan features a script originally penned by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, and rewritten by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today made two unsuccessful attempts in the Supreme Court to stall the release of movie Nanak Shah Fakir, hitting theatres across the nation tomorrow. The SGPC made the plea for the second time in afternoon after its first one was rejected in the morning. A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra refused for the second time to consider the SGPC submission that its plea be either heard today or tomorrow as it would be rendered infructuous as the movie is slated for release tomorrow. The bench, also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, had said in the forenoon that the SGPC plea would be heard on April 16.
