Sequel to Akshay-Vidya's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' in works
Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan-starrer horror-comedy "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" is all set to have a sequel, which is currently in the development stage. The sequel to the 2007 hit film, directed by Priyadarshan, will reportedly get a fresh cast. "It is true that we are making a sequel to the film. Currently, the script is being worked on," source close to the development told PTI. To be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-series, the sequel will reportedly have "Housefull 4" director Farhad Samji helming it. Samji has written for films like "Simmba", "Golmaal" and "Singham" series, "Judwaa 2" among others. Post the massive success of Rajkummar Rao's "Stree", several horror-comedies have been at works, including a proposed multi-film universe of the 2018 hit. Akshay, who featured in "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" as a psychiatrist, will be seen in "Laxmi Bomb" while Saif Ali Khan will also delve in the genre with "Bhoot Police", co-starring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal.

Ali Abbas Zafar spent several days thinking about a perfect name for the lead character of his upcoming film and the director says he even delved into mythology until he got a perfect title in "Bharat". The film, which is scheduled to release on June 5, is a remake of "Ode To My Father". Ali says he was extremely impressed with the 2014 Korean drama but the adaptation had to be in sync with the Indian sensibilities. "I didn't want to call it 'Ode to My Father.' I wasn't looking only at the promise he makes to his father but a lot of other things. I told Salman I'll make the film as not only his but the nation's journey. But I needed to know what the character should be called," Ali told PTI. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has been appointed the jury president of Malaysia Golden Global Awards. The awards ceremony, which will be held on July 20, will mark the end of the third edition of the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hirani will be joined by South Korean cinematographer Kim Hyung-Koo, actor Cecilia Yip and directors Joko Anwar and Ho Yuhang in the jury. Pop star Britney Spears has reportedly told a judge that her father, Jamie Spears, forced her to enter a mental health facility and take medication against her will. The 37-year-old singer had checked herself into a 30-day programme in March in the midst of her father's ongoing health issues. According to TMZ, Spears recently appeared in front of a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. During the hearing, the singer claimed that Jamie, 66, illegally made her enter the facility after she ditched her doctor-prescribed pills. Her mother, Lynne, who was also present during the hearing, backed Spears' claims. Spears has been under the control of a conservatorship, a guardian or a protector appointed by a judge to manage the financial affairs or daily life of a person.
