Anushka, Varun join hands with Delhi Traffic Police to promote safe driving

Delhi Traffic Police has roped in Bollywood actors Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan for a series of video messages on safe driving. The actors were in Delhi for the shoot of their upcoming film "Sui Dhaaga-Made In India". They shot at Chandni Chowk and Shankar Market amid tight security, a senior traffic police officer said. "We wanted to do an event with them to promote safe driving but they were on a tight schedule. We have recorded their video messages that will be uploaded on our Twitter handle," the officer said. In a video message that was uploaded today on the Traffic Police's Twitter handle, Anushka can be seen urging people to ride two-wheelers wearing helmets. John Abraham's production house terminates contract with Kriarj on 'Parmanu'

Actor and filmmaker John Abraham has terminated his company's partnership with Kriarj Entertainment, alleging "material breaches", including non-payment, and said it has no rights over the film "Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran". Abraham's production house JA Entertainment published a trade notice in a city paper on Sunday, declaring that it was ending its partnership with Prerna Arora's Kriarj Entertainment. "Delay in payments/non-payments, have caused delays in the post production work after the film's principal shoot was completed by us in time and on schedule last year," it said in another statement today. Kriarj said in a response that JA Entertainment's decision was "invalid and illegal". "Please note that the said termination is illegal and invalid. 'Hill Street Blues' creator Steven Bochco dies at 74

Emmy Award-winning writer Steven Bochco, known for creating series such as "Hill Street Blues" and "Doogie Howser, MD", died at the age of 74. A family spokesperson for the scribe-producer said he died after a battle with cancer, Variety reported. Bochco, who has 10 Emmy awards to his credit, created several hit television shows including "LA Law" and "NYPD Blue". The son of a painter and a concert violinist, Bochco grew up in Manhattan. He attended NYU, followed by Carnegie Institute of Technology, receiving a degree in theatre and went to Los Angeles there after. He, then, wrote for several series at Universal Studios. In 1972, he got his big break when he wrote the screenplay for the sci-fi film "Silent Running". He also wrote "The Movie Maker" after which he turned towards the small screen. Bochco had said that the disrespect he confronted as the writer discouraged him to write for the celluloid. At 22, he served as a story editor on popular NBC drama, "The Name of the Game" till .
