Veteran actor Brooke Shields is set to star in The CW network drama "Glamorous", to be directed by Eva Longoria. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Shields is on board to play Madolyn, a former supermodel and the CEO of one of the most respected and sophisticated cosmetics companies. Veteran rapper Eminem is upset with Netflix for cancelling "The Punisher". Netflix has cancelled all Marvel shows ending their six-year partnership. "The Punisher" was among the most recent shows to be laid off after two seasons. The Oscar-winning hip hop artiste took to social media to protest the February 18 cancellation of the Jon Bernthal-led vigilante series. "Dear Netflix, Regarding your cancellation of 'The Punisher', you are blowing it!! Sincerely, Marshall," Eminem wrote in all caps on Twitter. Netflix had already cancelled "Iron Fist", "Luke Cage", and "Daredevil" after the release of their most recent seasons. The still-upcoming third season of "Jessica Jones" will mark Marvel's last release on the streaming giant. Amy Winehouse hologram tour, that was slated to launch later this year, has been put "on hold" by the show's producer. BASE Hologram took to Twitter to announce that they have "encountered some unique challenges and sensitivities" that have made them reassess the tour. "In developing the type of highly ambitious, state-of-the-art hologram/augmented reality theatrical event that would truly capture (Winehouse's) genius and incredible artistic and social contributions, we have encountered some unique challenges and sensitives," the tweet read. The Winehouse show will be "on hold until we determine the best path to a creatively spectacular production that would properly honour Amy's legacy at its highest caliber," the company said. The tour was scheduled to kick off in 2019 and run for several years. The production was supposed to feature Winehouse's hologram backed by a live band, singers and theatrical stagecraft. Oscar-nominated composer Alexandre Desplat will be unable to attend the Academy Award ceremony because of recent throat surgery. The French music composer, who is already a two-time Oscar winner for 2014's "Grand Budapest Hotel" and 2017's "The Shape of Water", is nominated this year for his Japanese-flavored score for Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs". The composer had hoped to fly to LA for the Oscars ceremony, but doctors have advised him "to refrain from flying long distances at this stage of his recovery," Desplat's representative told Variety. He is currently working on the score for "The Secret Life of Pets 2". The other four original-score nominees Terence Blanchard ("BlacKkKlansman"), Ludwig Goransson ("Black Panther"), Nicholas Britell ("If Beale Street Could Talk") and Marc Shaiman ("Mary Poppins Returns").
Actor Michael B Jordan is in negotiations to feature in "Journal for Jordan", a drama that will be directed by veteran Hollywood star Denzel Washington. The Sony project, penned by screenwriter Virgil Williams, is based on the true story of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Dana Canedy's love affair with First Sergeant Charles Monroe King, reported Variety. King kept a journal full of poignant life lessons for their newborn son, Jordan, while deployed overseas. He was killed in Iraq in 2006 when Jordan was just seven months old, but his spirit lives on in his messages of love to Dana and Jordan. Jordan will produce the film under his banner Outlier Society. Washington and Escape Artist's Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch will also serve as producers.
