Rajinikanth's chitti avatar back in cinema's with '2.0', charms fans

Superstar Rajinikanth's much awaited 3D science fiction trilingual film "2.0", which brings backs robot Chitti, was released Thursday amid frenzied expectations from his fans and followers. A sequel to 2010 blockbuster "Enthiran", "2.0" by ace director Shankar saw fans flocking to movie halls as early as 4 AM. The halls were decorated with giant sized cut-outs and posters of Rajinikanth welcoming the fans. Touted to be one of the most expensive films, reportedly about Rs 550 crore, "2.0" has world class VFX and 3D and revolves around Rajinikanth's dual avatars as scientist Vaseegaran and the reloaded robot 'Chitti' as they battle 'villain' Akshay Kumar. Amy Jackson also plays a key role as a robot. Music for the film is scored by Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman. UNESCO adds reggae to global cultural heritage list

Reggae music, whose chill, lilting grooves won international fame thanks to artists like Bob Marley, on Thursday secured a coveted spot on the United Nations' list of global cultural treasures. UNESCO, the world body's cultural and scientific agency, added the genre that originated in Jamaica to its collection of "intangible cultural heritage" deemed worthy of protection and promotion. "This is a historic day. We are very, very happy," enthused Jamaica's Culture Minister Olivia Grange, speaking by phone from Mauritius where the listings were announced. Kevin Hart to produce remake of "Sunny"

American comedian-actor Kevin Hart is all set to produce a remake of the 2011 South Korean comedy-drama movie 'Sunny, in collaboration with Universal Pictures."Sunny" was one of the biggest blockbusters in 2011 in South Korea. The female-driven comedy-drama movie featured a group of friends meeting after 20 years of their high school when one of them is diagnosed with cancer.Titled 'Bye-Bye-Bye', the screenplay of the movie will be written by Amy Aniobi, while CJ Entertainment will be producing the film in collaboration with Hart's Hartbeat Productions. Furthermore, head of International at CJ Entertainment, Jerry Ko, will be the executive producer, reported Variety.This is the second project that Kevin will sign with Universal Pictures in one month. Pakistan to convert Rishi Kapoor's house in Peshawar into museum

The Pakistan government has decided to convert Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor's ancestral home in the Qissa Khwani Bazar in Peshawar into a museum soon, heeding to a request by the actor. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the Pakistan government will make the actor's house into a museum. "There was a call from Rishi Kapoor. He requested that his family's home in Peshawar should be made into a museum or some sort of institution. We have accepted his request," he told a group of visiting Indian journalists. Pakistan's Interior Minister Shehryar Khan Afridi said Kapoor telephoned him to preserve his family's house in Peshawar and we are responding positively to his request.
