Ukrainian filmmaker Dar Gai to make Bollywood debut
Her last two directorial ventures "Teen Aur Aadha" and "Namdev Bhau: In Search of Silence" became festival favourites and Ukranian filmmaker Dar Gai (Daria Gaikalova) is now ready to go the Bollywood way. Dar, who first came to India on an invite to direct a play at Scindia School in Gwalior, hopes she will get a much better understanding of Indian cinema after she starts working on the film. "I have currently five feature films in pipeline. One of them is a Bollywood film. It will be much more commercial than my previous films. "It would be interesting for me to see how would I adapt to that style of filmmaking," the director told PTI on the sidelines of the Dharamshala International Film Festival. Ridley Scott moving forward with 'Gladiator' sequel
Filmmaker Ridley Scott has started working on a new 'Gladiator' movie after years of discussion with Paramount Pictures.Peter Craig of 'The Town' fame has been roped in to pen the script, reported Variety.'Gladiator', which released in 2000, featured Russell Crowe as Maximus, a General in the Roman army, who is betrayed by the Emperor and left for dead while his family is brutally murdered. He is eventually forced to become a gladiator after being captured by slave traders, who lead him back to Rome to fight as a gladiator while plotting his revenge against Emperor that betrayed him.The film won the Best Picture and Best Actor award at the Oscars and went on to make USD 460 million at box office worldwide.

'Namdev Bhau: In Search of Silence' opens 7th Dharmshala International Film Festival
With an aim to promote indie cinema and give aspiring filmmakers a platform to showcase their work, the 7th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival kick-started here Thursday. The film extravaganza was opened by Ukrainian filmmaker Dar Gai's critically acclaimed feature "Namdev Bhau: In Search of Silence". The black comedy about a 65-year-old chauffeur and his quest to find silence received thundering response at DIFF, after receiving rave reviews at festivals like BFI London Film Festival 2018 and Busan International Film Festival 2018. The film was screened at the Hermann Gmeiner Auditorium in the Tibet Children's Village School. The evening began with junior and senior students of the school singing a Tibetan song. Stop using lawyers' attire in advertisement: BCD to Amitabh Bachchan, Everest Masala
The Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) on Wednesday warned of action against superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Everest Masala, YouTube and a media house over using lawyer's attire for a commercial advertisement, saying it "undermined the dignity of the legal profession". BCD chairman K C Mittal said the lawyers' body has issued the warning letter asking the actor, Everest, YouTube and the media house to give an undertaking that the lawyers' attire shall not be used in any advertisement in the future. The undertaking has to be given within 10 days of receipt of the letter, he said. "You (the actor and others) have failed to take due precaution before using the lawyers' attire for advertisement and are liable for legal action for telecasting the advertisement without any authority. "You are, therefore, required to immediately stop all such advertisements and also give an undertaking to the BCD, Bar Council of India and other state Bar Councils that the lawyers' attire shall not be used for any ...

As the #Metoo movement gathers pace, a Chennai-based woman artiste has accused actress Maya S Krishnan, who is part of top actor Rajinikanth's upcoming movie 2.0, of sexually harassing her. Krishnan has refuted the allegations. This is the second such instance in which a woman has been named, and first from Tamil Nadu with the campaign surging ahead.
