When the 'Golmaal' gang met 'Simmba'

The team of Rohit Shetty's 'Golmaal' recently joined Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan on the sets of their upcoming film 'Simmba' and combination surely packs a powerful punch.Ever since Rohit Shetty announced 'Simmba', fans couldn't wait to see what is in store for them with Bollywood powerhouse Ranveer Singh in the lead.Ranveer took to his Instagram and uploaded photos and boomerang videos from the sets with Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Sara.In the picture, the actors, along with director Rohit Shetty, can be seen giving a thumbs up to cameras. "Hamari film mein chaar chand lag gaye," Bollywood's Bajirao wrote alongside.While in the video, the actors performed the steps from the 'Golmaal's title track.'Simmba' is a remake of 2015 Telugu blockbuster 'Temper' and will mark the debut of Saif Ali Khan's daughter, Sara. The star cast also includes Sonu Sood.Produced by Karan Johar, the film will is scheduled to release on December 28.

Anupam Kher resigns as FTII chairman

Veteran actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday resigned as the chairman of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).The 63-year-old, who has started shooting for his international project titled 'New Amsterdam', took to Twitter to share the news and cited his busy schedule as the reason behind his resignation."It has been an honour, a privilege & a great learning experience to be the Chairman of the prestigious FTII. But because of my international assignments I won't have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation. Abyakto selected for competitive section in Kolkta film fest

Bengali film 'Abyakto' focusing on the complex relationship between a mother and son has been selected for the Indian Language Competition Section of 24th Kolkata International Film Festival, the producers said in a statement Wednesday. The Indian Language Competition Section is one of the sections in the Competition Category of 24th KIFF 2018 with the other categories being International Competition, Innovation in Moving Images, Competition on Indian Language's Films, Asian Select (NETPAC Award) and Competition on Indian Documentary Films. This edition of KIFF will be held from November 10 - 17 in the state-run auditorium Nandan and some other theatres across the city. Directed by young film maker Arjunn Dutta, 'Abyakto' has an ensemble cast of Arpita Chatterjee, Adil Hussain, Anubhav Kanjilal, Samontak Dyuti Maitra and others, the statement said. Kher resigns as FTII chairman citing commitment to international TV show

Actor Anupam Kher has resigned as the chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India citing commitments to an international TV show for which he has to be stationed in the US. In his resignation letter to Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore , he said that due to his commitment to the show he will be stationed in the US for "nearly nine months between 2018 and 2019 and then for a similar period for a minimum of three years more". "Given this assignment it would not be fair to me, the students and management team, for me to hold a position of such responsibility and accountability, without being actively involved in the operations," he said in his resignation letter. His resignation letter has been accepted by Rathore, who thanked Kher for his services to the premier institute, sources said. Kher had replaced Gajendra Chauhan, who had a controversial tenure, as the head of the Pune-based institute in October last year.
