Book looks into Bollywood's unsung women stars

A new book profiles the stories of 20 trailblazing women who have been working in Bollywood away from the public gaze - as studio heads, producers, directors, makeup artists, stylists, script writers, lyricists, editors, choreographers, stunt artists and set designers. "Changemakers: Twenty Women Transforming Bollywood Behind The Scenes" by Gayatri Rangachari Shah and Mallika Kapur is about these women who support the making of a movie and transform Bollywood. The authors say they have profiled those women who have cut through the ranks of a traditionally male-dominated field to establish themselves as undisputed leaders in their craft. Chlo Grace Moretz, Jack O'Connell to star as Bonnie and Clyde in 'Love Is A Gun'

Actors Chloe Grace Moretz and Jack O'Connell will be playing the iconic roles of Bonnie and Clyde in the upcoming film "Love Is a Gun". According to Variety, the project, which will be helmed by Spanish director Kike Maillo, is based on Jeff Guinn's 2010 account "Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde". "Up in the Air" scribe Sheldon Turner has adapted the script from the book with revisions by Johnny Newman. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, were portrayed by Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in a film of the same name which has over the years attracted a cult following. The two committed several crimes, including robbery, kidnapping, and murder, in the early 1930s. They had killed nine policemen before they were shot dead by the police in May 1934 in Louisiana. "Love Is a Gun" will be produced by Marissa McMahon and Ashley Schlaifer alongside Sean and Bryan Furst. The film will star production in early next year.

Dropped by MAMI, 'Bebaak' and 'Awake' screen to packed audience

Filmmaker Shazia Iqbal's "Bebaak" and Atul Mongia's "Awake", which were dropped by the 20th edition of MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, saw a huge gathering for their first ever public screening Tuesday night. In the wake of the allegations of inaction by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane in the sexual harassment case involving their former partner Vikas Bahl, MAMI dropped "Bebaak" and "Awake", independently produced by Kashyap and Motwane respectively. The short films were screened together for three consecutive packed shows, attended by film enthusiasts and industry friends, including Kashyap and Motwane. "It's very satisfying. It's a film that I had loved at the script stage itself. I wanted to produce the film at the script level itself before even my wife was cast. 'BoJack Horseman' renewed by Netflix for season six

Netflix has ordered a sixth season of its animated series "BoJack Horseman". The adult comedy show's renewal is not surprising as its fifth season, which premiered on the streaming giant's platform on September 14, was lauded by both the critics and the fans. The series hails from creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg and features Will Arnett as the voice of the titular horse, a washed-up 1990s sitcom star from Horsin' Around navigating life with his human sidekick Todd (Aaron Paul) and feline agent Carolyn (Amy Sedaris). The series is executive produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A Cohen and Noel Bright. Arnett and Paul also serve as the executive producers, Netflix said in a press release.
