The Centre is working on to ensure that each state soon starts holding separate science festivals to help spread awareness of regional achievements in scientific fields, Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan said Monday. "The government is working on a scheme to ensure that every state holds separate science festivals. It will help in spreading mass awareness of regional achievements in scientific fields," said Dr Harsh Vardhan, addressing the fourth India International Science, Literature and Film Festival here. Patekar reiterates his stand, denies harassment allegations
Denying allegations levelled against him by Tanushree Dutta, Bollywood veteran Nana Patekar on Monday said that the truth behind what happened ten years ago won't change.Speaking to the media, Patekar said, "The truth which was there 10 years back stands true even today". Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was admitted to hospital Sunday, is currently stable. The 95-year-old actor, who was being treated for recurrent pneumonia at Lilavati Hospital, was feeling better now. "He (Dilip Kumar) is stable now. There is nothing to worry about," Ajay Kumar, Vice President, Lilavati Hospital, told PTI. When reached out, Kumar's wife, yesteryear actor Saira Banu was unavailable for comment. Earlier in then day, Kumar's family friend Faisal Farooqui shared the news on the actor's official Twitter handle. "Want to inform you @TheDilipKumar has been admitted to hospital last night. Kannada activists protest against Sunny Leone's show in B'lore
Pro-Kannada activists staged a protest Monday calling for a ban on Bollywood actor Sunny Leone's show here on November 3, saying it was against Kannada culture. The event titled 'Purity and Expression' is being organised by Time Creations at the Manyata Tech Park in the city. Members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene (KRVYS) burnt an effigy of the former adult film star and claimed that the show was "against Kannada culture." "We staged a demonstration against the event... It is not just about the show here. There is much more to it... The actress is going to play the lead role in a period film based on a woman warrior from south India," KRVYS, president, K Harish said. "How can an actress like her be allowed to portray the legendary woman worshipped by everyone?" he asked. On December 31 last year, a new year's eve show featuring Leone, organised by Time Creations, was cancelled following protests by the KRVYS and denial of permission by the authorities.

Nana Patekar reiterates his stand on Tanushree Dutta's sexual harassment allegations
Nana Patekar has once again denied he misbehaved with actor Tanushree Dutta on the sets of a 2008 film, calling her allegation a "lie". In a recent TV interview, Dutta alleged Patekar misbehaved with her when the two were shooting a special song for "Horn Ok Pleassss" 10 years ago. "I said this 10 years ago too. What was true then remains true today. My legal team has asked me not to speak. Otherwise why will I not spear to you guys," Patekar told reporters here Monday. The actor, who was to hold a press conference, briefly addressed the media at his residence, saying he cannot talk in detail about the case. "I will follow what my lawyer has said. So please pardon me," he added. The 67-year-old actor's lawyer has sent a legal notice to Dutta for allegedly making false accusations against him in an incident that dates back to a decade. Dutta has also filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and the director and producer of the 2008 film.
'Horn Ok Pleassss' producer denes sexual harassment on film's set
The producer of "Horn Ok Pleassss" submitted an application before police Monday, stating that no molestation took place on the sets of the movie as alleged by actor Tanushree Dutta. Dutta in an interview had alleged that Nana Patekar misbehaved with her while filming a special song for "Horn Ok Pleassss" in 2008. According to a senior official, the producer, Samee Siddiqui, submitted the application at Oshiwara police station this morning.
