'Mr. Robot' to bid adieu after season 4
It's confirmed! Season four of the critically-acclaimed 'Mr. Robot' will be its last.The final season of the American drama series, which will begin production in New York this winter, will premiere in 2019, reports The Hollywood Reporter.Starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater, the award-winning drama follows the life of vigilante hacker Elliot Alderson (Malek) who also works as a senior network technician at a top cybersecurity company.While Slater has been nominated for three Golden Globe awards for his role, Malek won the Emmy in 2016 for best actor in a drama series and earned nominations for two Golden Globes.
DC's video streaming service to go live on September 15
DC fans rejoice! The company is going live with a dedicated streaming platform for all things DC. The service is scheduled to launch on September 15, 2018.The service will allow members access to the library of TV, film, and comics by DC. It will also include a wide range of classic TV shows including Lois and Clark, and an HD remastered version of Batman: The Animated Series, The Verge reported.The first original show by DC, called Titans, will also air on the service on October 12, 2018 after premiering earlier at the New York Comic Con. The service will cost subscribers USD 7.99 a month, or USD 74.99 for 15 months with the first three months as free.
Nick Jonas joins Kelly Clarkson, Pitbull in 'UglyDolls'
Singer-actor Nick Jonas has joined the voice cast of animated feature "UglyDolls". The 25-year-old musician, who recently got engaged to Indian actor Priyanka Chopra, will voice act and perform an original song in the film, reported Variety. Jonas joins previously announced co-stars Kelly Clarkson and Pitbull in the project. "The UglyDolls remind audiences the importance of acceptance and loving yourself, and as someone who started in this business very young, I understand the significance of using my platform to tell stories that lift others up," said Jonas. Alec Baldwin exits 'Joker' film
Actor Alec Baldwin has dropped out of "Joker" with Joaquin Phoenix in the lead. Two days ago, the 60-year-old actor had joined the film's cast and was supposed to play the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman's father, Thomas Wayne in the origin story of one of DC's most iconic antagonists. In an interview with USA TODAY, Baldwin said the he is no longer attached to project and cited "scheduling" issues as the reason for his departure. "I'm no longer doing that movie. I'm sure there are 25 guys who can play that part," he said. The actor also took to Twitter to share the news, saying "Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips' 'JOKER' as some Donald Trump manque. That is not happening." To be directed by Phillips, who also co-wrote the script with Scott Silver, the film is scheduled to begin shooting in a fortnight. 'Top Gun' sequel release date shifted to 2020 by Paramount Pictures
Tom Cruise's much awaited "Top Gun" sequel has been pushed back to 2020 as Paramount Pictures updated its release calender. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, titled "Top Gun: Maverick", was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on July 12, 2019 but will now release on June 26, 2020. The delay will provide the film's cast, that also include Miles Teller, Val Kilmer and Jennifer Connelly, time for flight training. The studio also announced that the sequel to its summer hit "A Quiet Place" will release on May 15, 2020. The film was directed John Krasinski who also co-wrote the screenplay with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck. The nearly dialogue-free movie centres on a family (led by Krasinski and his real-life wife, Emily Blunt) as they struggle to survive in a world of monsters that hunt by sound.
