Kalyan Jewellers has withdrawn their advertisement series featuring Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Malayalam actor Manju Warrier after legal action was threatened against them for portraying bank employees in a negative light.In a media statement, Kalyan Jewellers executive director Ramesh Kalyanaraman said, "We sincerely regret the inadvertent hurt caused and withdraw the advertisement from all media with immediate effect."He added that the advertisement has hurt sentiments of some people including members of the esteemed banking community and any such hurtful interpretation being drawn is unintended."We state that the creative advertisement was a work of fiction and not a reflection of banking employees at large. Marathi theatre actor Bal Gandharva's biography translated in Hindi
The Hindi translation of renowned Marathi theatre actor and singer Bal Gandharva's biography was recently launched here. Titled "Bal Gandharva", the book published by Rajkamal Prakashan, celebrates the life and times of Narayan Shripad Rajhans, who was given the moniker by Bal Gangadhar Tilak after the freedom fighter heard him sing. The Marathi orginal "Asa Ha Bal Gandharva" by Abhiram Bhadkamkar, has been translated into Hindi by Gorakh Thorat, a professor at Sir Parashurambhau College in Pune. "Translating 'Bal Gandharava' into Hindi is a historic step. We should also look forward to see this book being translated into other languages," Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, said at the launch. Bal Gandharva, who was best known for his roles as female characters in Marathi plays, won the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1955. "He was born in theater and he had spent his whole life on stage. Barua's abstract style is essentially an amalgamation of colours, red being a dominant hue, thereby portraying a blend of high course and flat course textures, superimposed by a perfect balance of vibrant brush strokes, with highly precise roller and spatula impact. In his 24-year-long artistic career, Barua has won various state-level awards including The Shankar's International Award, the Al-Flaha Merit scholarship, awards from the Lalit Kala Academy and Sahitya Kala .

Shonda Rhimes announces 8 Netflix Original shows
Shonda Rhimes's first batch of shows for Netflix will chiefly be female-powered stories, several of which will be led by female creatives. The streaming giant revealed eight programmes currently in development as part of the company's USD 300 million deal with Rhimes and her Shondaland banner, CNN reported. One show, currently unnamed, will be based on a New York Magazine article about Anna Delvey, a woman made famous for conning New York socialites into funding her lavish lifestyle. Rhimes is creating the series. Another show will be based on author Julia Quinn's best-selling historical romance "Bridgerton" novels. 'The Middle' spin-off under production
"The Middle" spin-off focusing on Sue Heck is moving forward, actor Eden Sher has confirmed. The pilot of the new show is being currently filmed. The development came after talk surfaced about a potential new ABC show a few months ago. "We are shooting a pilot. I hope it gets picked up. I think it's going to be great," Sher told TVLine on the sidelines of San Diego Comic-Con. Without giving away much, the actor explained it would take place "somewhere in between the end of the show" and the flash-forward several years at the very end of "The Middle". The original sitcom, which ran from 2009-2018, ended with Sue still in college, though in the flash-forward it was revealed that she eventually married her longtime friend Sean. Lindsay Lohan's Greece-set reality series greenlit at MTV
Lindsay Lohan and MTV are headed to Greece for a reality series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show, produced by unscripted veterans Bunim/Murray, will be set at a recently opened beach club on the Greek island of Mykonos. The show will follow Lohan and the staff of the Lohan Beach House at work and, presumably, after hours. The channel declined to comment.
