The National Testing Agency (NTA) postponed at least 16 exams due to different reasons since its inception in 2018, the Ministry of Education informed the Lok Sabha on Monday. The reasons for postponement included COVID-19 pandemic, administrative reasons, logistical reasons, and technical issues. A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Union education ministry to cancel the UGC-NET test following inputs that the exam's integrity may have been compromised. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is questioning a first-year MBBS student from the 2023 batch of RIMS in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, an official said on Friday. The student, who stays at the girls' hostel of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), formerly known as Rajendra Medical College and Hospital (RMCH), an autonomous institute under the Jharkhand government, was approached by the CBI earlier this week for questioning. "The CBI team is questioning a first-year student. The team contacted the hospital management on Wednesday saying they wanted to question her in connection with the NEET paper leak. The management extended full cooperation to the team. On Thursday too, they grilled her and said she will be questioned further," RIMS PRO Rajiv Ranjan told PTI. The CBI is likely to file a charge sheet against a youth who allegedly circulated a "doctored" screenshot of the UGC-NET paper on Telegram which led to the cancellation of the exam after an alert from the Union Home Ministry about a possible "breach", officials said. The Indore police have registered a case against an unidentified person for allegedly trying to sell online a fake question paper of the Madhya Pradesh state service exam by claiming the paper had been leaked, an official said on Monday. After a complaint by a vigilance officer of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC), the case was registered on Sunday night under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology, the official from Sanyogitaganj police station said.
