Disappointed with the results of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and lack of clarity over admission process in colleges on Friday, students on social media expressed their views and confusion over choice of college. Surbhi Tiwary said students were clueless about the admission process and some of them were forced to settle with a local college and not one of their choice. "CUET was the biggest disaster. Students who otherwise would have been sure of their future and college according to their plans, are now clueless. Even the brightest ones do not have an option now except for doing their UG from a local college which hardly makes any sense," she wrote on Twitter. CUET-UG results out; NTA says universities will prepare own merit lists

The results for the debut edition of the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate admissions were declared on Friday, National Testing Agency officials said. The CUET-UG results were scheduled to be declared by 10 pm on Thursday. However, the NTA said post-midnight that there will be a delay citing a huge database. "The merit lists will be prepared by participating universities, who will decide about their individual counselling on the basis of the CUET-UG score card," said Sadhana Parashar, senior director (exams), NTA. The first edition of CUET-UG, the gateway for undergraduate admissions in all central universities, began in July and concluded on August 30. Sixty per cent attendance was recorded in the exam. According to Parashar, the performance of every candidate was evaluated using the "equi-percentile method". Under this method, normalised marks of every candidate were calculated using the percentiles of each group of students in a given session across multiple days

NEET-UG results declared; over 993,000 candidates clear entrance exam

The National Testing Agency on Wednesday declared the results of NEET with Rajasthan's Tanishka bagging the top rank among more than 9.93 lakh candidates who cleared the medical entrance exam. Delhi's Vatsa Ashish Batra and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka bagged the second and third position respectively. Over 17.64 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam. The maximum number of candidates who have qualified the exam are from Uttar Pradesh (1.17 lakh), followed by Maharashtra (1.13 lakh) and Rajasthan (82,548). About 95 per cent attendance was recorded in the entrance examination on July 17 at 3,570 different centres in 497 cities across the country and 14 cities outside India. The examination was conducted in 13 languages -- Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
