Major fire breaks out in local slum cluster in Gurugram, 65 shanties gutted

About 65 shanties were gutted after a major fire broke out in local slum cluster in sector 65 here on Saturday, a fire official said. Initial investigations have revealed the cause of the fire was a cooking gas leakage, the official said. According to police, a fire broke out in the sector 65 area around 10 am. Five fire engines were immediately pressed into the service, they said, adding that the blaze was brought under control but 65 shanties were gutted. There were no casualties or burn injuries reported, the police said. After receiving the information, DCP South Siddhant Jain and his team reached the spot and evacuated many people, including small children, from the shanties. Major fire breaks out in Kolkata, several shanties gutted, none injured

A major fire broke out in Dum Dum area of Kolkata on Saturday morning, gutting several shanties in a slum, officials said. However, no casualties have been reported so far in the incident that took place in Mela Bagan in Dum Dum area. At least eight fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the blaze, as thick smoke and flames were seen billowing from the shanties, which were predominantly made of plastic and other flammable materials, they said. Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said the fire at the renowned Mahakal Temple in Ujjain on Monday morning may have been caused by chemicals in 'gulal', a coloured powder used in rituals and during Holi. Fire catches chemical factory located near Jaipur; 6 dead, 1 injured

Six people died and one other was injured in a fire that broke out at a chemical factory in Jaipur district's Bassi area on Saturday evening, officials said. 350 evacuated as fire breaks out at building in Thane, none injured

A total of 350 residents were evacuated after a fire broke out in a five-storey building in Maharashtra's Thane district in the early hours of Friday, an official said. No one was injured in the fire that was confined to the electric meter room of Aman Heights located in the Shivaji Nagar area of Mumbra, he said. A coach of an empty train caught fire at a railway yard in Maharashtra's Thane district in the wee hours of Saturday, an official from the Central Railway (CR) said. The blaze occurred around 1.20 am in the train parked at the railway yard in Badlapur, around 70-80 km from here, the CR spokesperson said. The train was on the Karjat bound loop line, he said.
