E-commerce firm Flipkart on Thursday said it has entered into the home product services domain by launching services like repairs, maintenance, and installation for all appliances on its app. Leveraging network of its service arm Jeeves, the company had started pilot for home product services few months back. The services will now be available across 19,000 pin codes at the customers' doorstep, including the pick and drop services. With this, Flipkart will be competing with unicorn Urban Company and startups like Mr Right, OnSiteGo etc. "At Jeeves, we continuously strive to provide efficient, customer-focused end-to-end after sales services. Delhi Police has questioned the officials of e-commerce firm Flipkart for allegedly selling acid on its platform despite a ban on the substance by the Supreme Court. Police on December 15 issued a notice to Flipkart after the prime accused in an acid attack on a girl in Dwarka, Delhi said he bought the substance from the e-commerce website. According to the police, the officials were questioned on Wednesday and they are not satisfied with the reply of the firm. The company had responded to the notice, saying that the acid was sold by an Agra-based firm. Police said whether they will be questioned again will be decided later. On Thursday, the Delhi Commission for Women issued notices to two e-commerce firms for allegedly allowing sale of acid on their platforms. The Delhi Police had also issued a notice to Flipkart after it found that the acid was procured from the e-commerce firm. "CCPA has sent notices to two e-commerce entities, namely Flipkart Internet Pvt Ltd and Fashnear Technologies Pvt Ltd (meesho.com) for gross violations relating to sale of acid reported on their platforms.
