Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell is one of the 15 players who have been named in the Australia squad to play the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. Glenn Maxwell, who made his one-day international debut on 25-Aug-12, had played 100 ODI matches until the 2019 World Cup. In the 90 innings he batted in, he had scored a total of 2700 runs, having faced 2214 balls, at an average of 33.33 and a strike rate of 121.95. He was unbeaten in 9 of those innings. His highest score in an innings was 102. He had 1 century and 19 half-centuries to his name. In the bowling department, Glenn Maxwell had bowled 2404 balls and taken 50 wickets while conceding a total of 2230 runs. He had an average of 44.6 and an economy rate of 5.57 His best ODI bowling performance was 4/1.

Glenn Maxwell is an Australian international cricketer who is known for his dramatic shot making and improvisation in the shorter formats. Maxwell scored 102 from 52 balls against Sri Lanka in the 2015 World Cup, the second fastest World Cup century to date. He also scored an unbeaten 145* from 65 balls against Sri Lanka in 2016; the third highest score in Twenty20 Internationals.
Maxwell has made his impact in the longer form of the game including a maiden Test century against India in Ranchi on 16 March 2017 in which he scored 104 from 185 balls.  In March 2013, he made his Test debut against India in the second Test at Hyderabad
On 28 March 2018, Maxwell was urgently recalled to the Test squad, along with Matthew Renshaw and Joe Burns, following the suspensions of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft for ball tampering during the Third Test of the Australian 2018 Tour of South Africa
Maxwell was first signed by the Delhi Daredevils Indian Premier League in 2012 in which he played two games. In February 2013, the Indian Premier League team the Mumbai Indians bought him for $1 million US, making him the most expensive player. In 2014, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 6 crore. In 16 games he had the season's 3rd highest aggregate of 552 runs at an average of 34.50. He was retained by Kings XI Punjab for 2015 IPL Season. He failed to impress in that season, making an overall 145 runs in 11 games at an average of 13.18. Maxwell had a disappointing IPL in 2017 as he could not contribute much for Kings XI Punjab. Maxwell was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2018
Maxwell made his ODI debut for Australia against Afghanistan in a one-off One Day International in the United Arab Emirates in 2012. On 10 January 2013, he played his first ODI at home against Sri Lanka. Maxwell was part of Australia's 15 man squad for 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Later in the tournament, he blasted a 51-ball century against Sri Lanka at the SCG, by recording the fastest century by Australian in ODIs and the second-fastest in World Cup history. It was also during early 2015 that Maxwell broke into the top 10 of the ICC one-day international batting rankings. Australia won the won their fifth World Cup title. Maxwell ended the World Cup as third highest run scorer for Australia behind Steve Smith (402) and David Warner (345), scoring 324 runs at an average of 64.80 with a strike rate of 182.02. In April 2019, he was named in Australia's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Maxwell made his T20I debut against Pakistan in 2012. Maxwell was picked in Australia's squad to play in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka. He did not have a memorable tournament though but Australia reached semi-final of the tournament, where they lost the match to West Indies. Maxwell then played for Hampshire in the 2012 Champions League Twenty20 in South Africa.  Maxwell was named in Australia's 15 man Squad for 2014 ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. Australia again knocked out from the tournament very early.
Test career
In March 2013, he made his Test debut against India in the second Test at Hyderabad. Maxwell made a return to the Test team in October 2014 against Pakistan in the UAE, playing the 2nd match of the series. On February 2017, Maxwell was picked on the Test match tour of India in which he scored his maiden Test century and became the second player for Australia to score a century in all three international formats after Shane Watson.
