Faridabad: Healthcare, spirituality closely linked in India, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said healthcare and spirituality are closely linked in India and the country's COVID-19 vaccination drive is an example of a successful spiritual-private partnership. Modi inaugurated a 2,600-bed private hospital here that is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a centralised fully-automated laboratory, in what will be a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR). "India is a country where healthcare and spirituality are closely linked. "During the vaccination exercise, some people tried to contribute to bad publicity but when our spiritual leaders countered it, then people came forward and its impact was seen in the vaccination coverage too," the prime minister said in his address. "A combination of technology and modernisation will lead to the

Healthcare cost cut for millions as Biden signs bill for subsidies

Millions of people in the United States will be spared from big increases in health care costs next year after President Joe Biden signed legislation extending generous subsidies for those who buy plans through federal and state marketplaces. The sweeping climate, tax and health care bill sets aside $70 billion over the next three years to keep out-of-pocket premium costs low for roughly 13 million people, just before the reduced prices were set to expire in a year beset by record-high inflation. As the calendar pushed closer to the Nov. 1 open enrollment date, Sara Cariano was growing nervous about her work helping people across Virginia sign up for subsidized, private health insurance on the HealthCare.gov website. I expected very difficult conversation with folks to explain why their premiums were spiking, said Cariano, a policy specialist at the Virginia Poverty Law Center. But the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act erased those worries. Things aren't going to change for t

Kejriwal launches 'Make India No. 1' mission to focus on education, health

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched a national mission to make India the number one country in the world and called on all citizens and political parties to join it. Providing free education and healthcare to citizens, employment to youths, equal rights and dignity to women and fair price to farmers for their produce are needed to achieve the goal, he said. Kejriwal said he will travel across the country as part of the mission -- 'Make India No. 1' -- to encourage people to join the initiative and achieve its objectives. He said the mission is apolitical in nature. "This is not the mission of a political party, it's a national mission. I call upon the BJP and all other parties to come forward and join this initiative to make India the number one country in the world," the chief minister said. Many countries like Singapore got independence after India but are ahead of us. Why is India lagging behind despite Indians being the "most intelligent a
