The application is like a planner and is available on Android and iOS platforms. "This digital calendar can also be used as a personal planner. It has information on festivals and events happening in the country and will also allow user to create and manage personal events, get regular notifications on upcoming festivals and events, allow set up of customise reminders for individual events and share with their contacts," the tourism ministry said. The minister also launched The Incredible India Desk Calendar - 2018, which profiles 12 different kinds of travellers and suggests appropriate destinations for them. The theme of the desk calendar is "India for Everyone", showcasing the country's incredible tourist destinations.

Giant hot-air balloons from various countries including the US, France and Germany are among the attractions at the 4th International Balloon Festival 2018 being held at nearby Pollachi. Armed robbers launched a spectacular raid on the world-famous Ritz hotel in Paris, making off with an estimated four million euros worth of jewels, the latest in a string of high-profile heists in the French capital. Shanghai has installed the world's first 3D-printed bus stops in an ancient town which is part of the city, according to a media report. The bus shelters have a unique closed loop design, and two-round stools are set inside the grey rectangle frame. The original print marks still remain, allowing observers to see how the structure was made layer-by-layer, state-run People's Daily reported. The grey coloured raw materials are environmentally friendly and renewable materials recycled from demolished buildings. They were chosen to naturally fit the style of the ancient town of Fengjing, Shanghai, the report said. The structures have attracted interest, as there were no bus stops like that before, only bus stop signs, it said.
