The camera turns closer to home at Serendipity Arts Festival

Walking past a few rooms in the Adil Shah Palace here, a venue for the ongoing Serendipity Arts Festival, a corner wall catches the eye. It's not because the work displayed on it is strikingly beautiful but because of the oddity of the pairings -- leaves from what looks like a child's drawing book are showcased along side their almost photographic replicas. A closer look reveals a story, and that is strikingly beautiful. During his time shooting at a hospital in Jaipur, Delhi-based artist Chandan Gomes chanced upon a drawing book and decided to embark on a journey to locate the author. As one thing led to another, he discovered that the book belonged to a little girl from Baran in Rajasthan. But Aini Haseena Bano had passed away last January, even before Gomes found her book. The work titled, "This World of Dew" that he created over a span of five years (2011-2015) offered him what he calls "closure". "The drawings revealed little...the answers I was seeking lay outside those ...

Storm in a teacup in Britain over eco-friendly bags

Britons are up in arms over new environmentally-friendly teabags that leave a bitter taste in the mouth as they split open, spilling their contents into teacups across the land. Yorkshire Tea, the country's second biggest brand after PG Tips, launched the new biodegradable teabags in June and has now been forced to respond to a barrage of complaints. "Has anyone else noticed that Yorkshire Tea bags are quite burst-able at the moment?," one disgruntled user, BBC radio 3 presenter Elizabeth Alker, said on Twitter. BT Sport football commentator Darren Fletcher wrote that the Yorkshire Tea bags were "shambolic". "Things may never be the same again!" he said. The new bags, which no longer rely on plastic to stay sealed, are splitting when dunked in hot water. "Hi @YorkshireTea this is the 10th teabag to split from this box. I don't like drinking the leaves," wrote Bill Fyfe, posting a photo of his cup with floating leaves. The Daily Mail said Yorkshire Tea was "in a pot of bother". The ...

"The committee would also like to recommend that parallels should be drawn with other developed countries where a single-pass entry ticket is invariably used for all forms of public transport too, such as hop-on-hop-off busses, metropolitan cities, city bus services, ...
