IRCTC launches tour package for Hindu pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra

The railways' catering and tourism arm IRCTC announced a special tour package, including air travel, covering major Hindu pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra on Friday. The all-inclusive tour package of Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) of the duration of five nights and six days covers Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur, Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga, Ellora Caves and Goa. "Shirdi, a small town in Maharashtra, was where saint Sai Baba lived till his samadhi in 1918. It is counted among the major Hindu pilgrimages which attract thousands of devotees from all over India. The special package covers the Sai Baba temple and Shani Shingnapur along with the UNESCO world heritage site of Ellora Caves and Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga," a statement from IRCTC said. The package has been priced at Rs 34,880 per person on twin sharing basis. Adityanath visits Statue of Unity, parries Ram temple poser

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Friday visited the Statue of Unity, a 182-metre-tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel built near the Sardar Sarovar Dam here in Narmada district. The grand structure, touted as the world's tallest statue, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. During his tour of the site, Adityanath, however, refused to answer a media query on building a Ram temple in Ayodhya. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani accompanied Adityanath during his visit to the statue and adjoining attractions, which include a 17-kilometre-long "valley of flowers" and a tent city to accommodate tourists. CRPF launches bike ambulance in Jharkhand

The Jharkhand sector of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has launched an ingeniously designed bike ambulance in order to provide health facilities to people in the interior areas of Latehar district.The bike ambulance was launched at the Matlong Campo of 133 Battalion of the CRPF on Thursday.The vehicle consists of a foldable canopy with a backrest, hand rest and seat extension for patients. Switzerland ropes in Sehwag, Malinga to promote winter tourism

Switzerland wanted to promote winter tourism in a big way in India and has roped in cricket icons Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Lasith Malinga to play ice cricket in a Swiss ski resort as a part of the promotional drive, a Switzerland Tourism official said Thursday.
