Gujarat Titans' Kagiso Rabada is set to make a comeback in the IPL after serving a one-month suspension with all procedures regarding the South Africa pacer's recreational drug use being "followed to the letter", said the franchise's director of cricket Vikram Solanki on Monday. Rabada was handed a one-month suspension for recreational drug use while playing for the MI Cape Town in the SA20 tournament in January this year. He was informed about failing the drug test on April 1, and two days later, GT announced that Rabada had returned home for "personal reasons". The South African Institute for Drug Free Sports (SAIDS) on Monday said Rabada had completed a "substance abuse treatment program", making him available for participation in the IPL. "With Kagiso, as far as tomorrow's match is concerned, the fact is he is now available, given all of the decisions that have been taken and whatever has transpired over the past month or so," Solanki told the media during GT's training session

The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a plea by Indian Premier League cricket team Royal Challengers Bengaluru against a YouTube advertisement of Uber Moto featuring Sunrisers Hyderabad's cricketer Travis Head, saying no prima facie case of disparagement or infringement of trademark was made out. The court opined that the general perception created by holistic viewing of the advertisement is one of healthy banter and good-natured lighthearted humour, as it refused to grant an interim injunction on the advertisement. The high court said in the advertisement there was "no element of demeaning/ criticism/ condemning/ ridiculing/ defaming/ mocking or falsity" with a view to injure or harm the RCB trademark or RCB cricket team. Justice Saurabh Banerjee dismissed the application by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, saying it does not call for any interference at this stage. Disappointed but not deflated, Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant is still dreaming of sneaking into the IPL play-offs as he believes his struggling side can turn things around in the remaining three games. Another poor batting effort by the top order led LSG's 37-run defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings on Sunday. LSG have 10 points from 11 games and are currently placed seventh in the league table. With a net run-rate of -0.47, merely winning three games might not be enough for Pant and his men to make it to the play-offs. "The dream is still alive. If we can win the next three matches, we can definitely turn around and do amazing things," Pant said at the post match presentation ceremony. He did concede that 236 was too much to chase and fielding was also below par. "Definitely too many runs. When you drop crucial catches at the wrong time, it can hurt you badly. We thought it would do more, but we did not pick the length right at the start. But that is part and parcel of
Punjab Kings head coach Ricky Ponting revealed it was skipper Shreyas Iyer's tactical call to promote Josh Inglis to number 3 to counter Lucknow Super Giants' tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav. To everyone's surprise Inglis, who has batted mostly in the middle order this season, walked in during the very first over after opener Priyansh Arya fell cheaply and immediately set the tone for PBKS' innings. The Australian wicketkeeper-batter smashed a 14-ball 30, which included four sixes -- three of them coming in successive deliveries off Mayank in the second over. "It was actually a move that the captain came up with," Ponting told the media after PBKS' 37-run win. "He thought on that sort of pitch, against that bowling attack, that it would be the right thing to, if a wicket fell early, to send Inglis in. We felt that Mayank would bowl early on. If you look at the way he bowls, he generally bowls reasonably short. And that's one of Inglis' great strengths, as you saw tonight. Those pull .
