State-owned IRCTC on Wednesday reported 30.36 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 294.67 crore for September quarter 2023-24. The company had logged a net profit of Rs 226.03 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing. Total revenue increased 23.51 per cent to Rs 995.31 crore in comparison to Rs 805.80 crore in Q2FY23, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said. The company said its board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 2.50 per equity share. IRCTC was conceived as an extended arm of Indian Railways with an aim to upgrade, professionalise, and manage catering and hospitality services at stations, on trains, and other locations. Additionally, it has been instrumental in promoting both domestic and international tourism. The company comes under Ministry of Railways.

Stating that it is a fake application, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has asked people not to fall prey to it. "It has been reported that a malicious and fake mobile app campaign is in circulation where some fraudsters are sending phishing links at a mass level and insisting users to download fake IRCTC Rail Connect' mobile app to trick common citizens into fraudulent activities," the advisory said. It has also attached a snapshot of the fake mobile app in circulation. IRCTC has also advised customers to use its official Rail Connect Mobile apps from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Passengers travelling by train or air will soon be able to "reserve tickets" in advance in Delhi Metro for their forward journey as the IRCTC and DMRC have joined hands to introduce the 'One India-One Ticket' initiative, officials said on Monday. However, the timeline for the rollout of the project has not been announced yet, a senior official of the DMRC said, adding the move seeks to provide seamless and hassle-free travel for commuters across different modes of transport.
